Restoring Seattle and Shoreline's largest watershed (web site under construction)
Help Keep Northgate Wild!! May 5th, Sunday, 10:00am – 1:00pm Beaver Pond Natural Area
We’ll work on restoring the wetland up at the north end of the park. This is a beautiful site where a Boy Scout Troop came and began the process last year. Our job will be to remove invasive weeds and create space for the native plants.
What to Bring
Please dress in layers and in clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, and pants are recommended. Bring a full water bottle and work gloves if you have them. Don’t forget to bring your rain gear if rain is in the forecast. We will provide beverages and snacks, all tools, and gloves for those who need them. Please note: restrooms are about three blocks from the work site.
Where to Meet
We’ll meet just a block south of Northgate Way on NE 106th St., and near 8th Ave. NE. NE 106th is the dead end street that runs along the north side of the beaver pond, and you must get onto 8th NE to get there.
You can park on the street or take advantage of great bus service to the Northgate neighborhood.
There are no signs for this park. When you see the big trees you’re there!
Please register early, so we can plan appropriately. If you are under 18 please print and bring the waiver form on the lower right of the Green Seattle Partnership registration page.
