Activities

This lovely trail around Jackson Park crosses Thornton Creek and passes through a variety of landscapes crowded with invasive ivy, blackberry, laurel, and holly. Starting with a beautiful stretch of healthy woodland, we’re planning to rescue ivy choked trees, pull out blackberries and ivy, replant and mulch to store native vegetation, and keep this popular trail clear of hazards like brambles, branches, and leaves.

Open to the public

All ages OK

6 out of 15 volunteers registered.

What to Bring

Bring stout gloves and your favorite hand tools (we have a job box with some tools)

Where to Meet

We’ll meet at the Seattle Parks rainbow sign for Jackson Park Trail. It’s located next to the entrance to the Golf Course, at NE 135th and 11th NE. (This is the golf course north of northgate, east of I-5, that extends from NE 135th to NE 145th St).

Where to Park

Parking is available next to the rainbow sign. For bus riders, walk west on NE 135th from 15th NE, where buses 347, 348, and 73 are reasonably frequent, or take the 41 and walk north on 10th NE at NE 125th.
