Sound Transit and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) have published the massive and important Lynnwood Link Extension Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). The DEIS evaluates light rail route and station alternatives and describes the project’s potential effects on the environment (much of it in the headwaters of Thornton Creek’s North Branch), nearby properties (North Acres Park, Jackson Park, Paramount Park, Twin Ponds Park, Ronald Bog, North City Park, Ridgecrest Park, and hundreds of 40 to 50 year old evergreens along Link’s I-5 right of way) and transportation (Finally an alternative to the automobile! But how will pedestrians and bicycles access it and what roads will be expanded?), as well as other impacts. The 60-day extended comment period ends September 23, 2013.

Stop by the open house/public hearing to talk with the project team and submit your comments.
